School Visits: Teaching Toward the Collection
The Frick Collection welcomes students in the 5th through 12th grades to our galleries. School visits introduce students to the museum’s extraordinary collection in the setting of Mr. Frick’s home.
We offer two types of school visit experiences:
Guided Visit
Students will study works of arts through careful observation and focused small group discussions with our museum educators, curators, and docents. Visits are active and participatory and may include writing or sketching in the galleries.
Guided Visits are offered from 10:00 – 11:15 a.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
We accept up to 25 students.
Unguided Visit
Students may enter the Collection and visit the galleries independently. Security will ensure that groups do not travel together through the Collection.
Unguided Visits are offered from 1:00 – 2:15 p.m.
Tuesday – Friday
We accept up to 30 students.
Note: Self-guided groups with outside lecturers are prohibited.
