Network Administrator/Help Desk Coordinator
Background
The Frick Collection is an art museum consisting of more than 1,100 works of art from the 13th to the 19th century, displayed in the intimate surroundings of the former home of Henry Clay Frick. The residence, with its furnishings and works of art, has been open to the public since 1935. It is one of the world's most perfect museums; its sister research institution the Frick Art Reference Library is of equal distinction.
Summary
Day to day administration of the network. Server upkeep and maintenance, including backups. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues. Coordinate the day to day Help Desk requests. Review and analyze Track-It help desk statistics to ensure timely resolution of all tickets. Present user training and awareness sessions. Orientation to new users. Inventory usage, monitoring and control. Weekly statistics Reporting to IT management. Supervise 2 FTEs, scheduling work and department coverage.
Requirements
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must be dependable, punctual, energetic, take initiative and be proactive. Ability to work effectively with users at all levels and react quickly in a crisis (system or internet line down). Ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with vendors and users. Work collaboratively and communicate well with IT staff. Excellent organizational skills to manage work orders and systems issues, reporting back to IS management.
BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and minimum five to ten years hands-on experience working with networks, computer hardware and software. Desktop OS Support - PC and Mac: Software applications, installation, troubleshooting. Server upgrades - Server OS, setting up Windows servers, MS Exchange, server application installation and upgrades, applying service packs and security patches to network operating systems. Networking - Active Directory, Wireless, Troubleshooting, experience with San/NAS, Cisco Switches desired. Experience with SonicWall, Barracuda desired. PC Hardware troubleshooting - Diagnose, replace, upgrade and returns to vendor. PDA Support. Research and Development - Technical research for desktop, server, network and software support. Ability to lift 50 lbs. to the waist.
