The Frick Collection: Curatorial Internships
The Curatorial Department of The Frick Collection invites three to four interns every summer to work with specialists in Renaissance paintings and sculpture, seventeenth-century Dutch painting, eighteenth-century French art, nineteenth- and early twentieth-century European painting, and European decorative arts.
Interns work closely with the small curatorial staff on various projects, which may involve research on the permanent collection, exhibition preparation, and maintenance of curatorial records. Current projects include research on Italian Renaissance sculpture, Rembrandt, Renoir, and Picasso. All interns have access to the Frick Art Reference Library, one of the leading art research centers in the world, and participate in enrichment events organized throughout the summer.
Eligibility
Curatorial internships are open to upper-level undergraduates majoring in art history, and to graduate students enrolled in art history programs. Reading proficiency in French, German, Italian, or Spanish is desired. Preference will be given to applicants with strong academic preparation and a demonstrated interest in museum work.
Curatorial interns work four or five days per week from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All internships are unpaid, and applicants are responsible for their own housing and travel arrangements.
