On October 15, 2012, The Frick Collection hosted its annual Autumn Dinner. This year’s black-tie event honored Henry Arnhold, a distinguished civic leader, renowned collector, generous philanthropist, and champion of education and the arts in New York City. The dinner was attended by 240 donors and raised nearly $1.1 million to support programs at both the Collection and the Library.
Mr. Arnhold is president of the Arnhold and Mulago foundations, which have made a substantial and lasting impact through the generous support of the arts, environmental causes, and various social programs. A passionate collector of Meissen porcelain and a well-known authority in the field, Mr. Arnhold has promised a significant gift of Meissen to the Frick. A selection of pieces from the promised gift was recently featured in the augural exhibition of the museum’s new Portico Gallery, which was underwritten by the Arnhold Foundation.
