On October 7, 2013, The Frick Collection hosted its annual Autumn Dinner. This year’s black-tie event honored Michel David-Weill, a distinguished banker, collector, philanthropist, and supporter of the arts. The dinner was attended by 240 donors and raised nearly $1.2 million to support programs at both the Collection and the Library.
An esteemed businessman, Mr. David-Weill served as Chairman and President of Lazard LLC from 1977 to 2005. Currently, he is Director of Banca Leonardo in Italy, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eurazeo in Paris, and an honorary Vice-President of the Danone Group in France.
He is a passionate and generous patron of the arts and other philanthropic causes. For nearly twenty years, he has been a generous friend to The Frick Collection, helping to underwrite exhibitions of French art and contributing to the endowment, established in 2010, for the newly created position of Curator of Decorative Arts.
