The Frick Collection is an art museum consisting of more than 1,100 works of art from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century, displayed in the intimate surroundings of the former home of Henry Clay Frick. The residence, with its furnishings and works of art, has been open to the public since 1935. The Frick Art Reference Library is an internationally-recognized research library that serves as one of the most complete resources for the study of Western art. Founded in 1920, the Library today holds more than one million study photographs, 285,000 books, 80,000 auction catalogs, and 2,250 periodical titles. It is open to interested individuals from all over the world.
This integral member of our Retail and Visitor Services department will be responsible for receiving, shipping, and inventory of all merchandise. S/he will also fulfill and ship all mail and web orders. S/he will restock our Museum Shop on a daily basis, coordinate annual inventory and maintain retail storage spaces. S/he will supervise part-time Retail Fulfillment Assistants, some of whom are disabled. S/he will also provide backup assistance in our Coatroom, Museum Shop, Admissions Desk and Mailroom.
High school diploma or GED. Inventory and/or retail experience. Interest or experience in visual arts/art history background a plus. Meticulous, organized, responsible. Excellent record keeping, organizational and planning skills. Able to work well independently and as an enthusiastic member of a team. Excellent communications skills: ability to interact effectively, proactively, and respectfully with visitors to the museum and colleagues at all levels.
