Maeve Turner & Lynden Miller: Restoring a Landmark: The Frick's 70th Street Garden
On May 13, 2026, in the Ian Wardropper Education Room, Maeve Turner, the Frick’s Head of Gardens and Horticulture, and celebrated garden designer Lynden B. Miller joined together to discuss the restoration of the Frick’s historic 70th Street Garden—originally designed in 1977 by legendary British landscape architect Russell Page. During the Frick’s recent renovation project, the garden was removed to create new public spaces underground, then meticulously recreated according to Page’s original vision. Turner and Miller explored what makes the garden so singular and beloved, shared the extensive research conducted by Miller ahead of the restoration, and revealed the structural and horticultural improvements implemented during its renewal.
