yellow and red bird on tree branch
Sèvres Hand Mirror

The bird detail is adapted from the Vase "à Oreilles," produced about 1759 by Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory. Under Louis XV’s patronage, the celebrated manufactory became the most important  in Europe. The vase is part of a set that includes another vase "à Oreilles" and a potpourri "à Vaisseau." The set was purchased by Henry Clay Frick in 1916.
