Vermeer at The Frick Collection Notecard Folio
The Frick Collection owns three of the approximately thirty-five paintings accepted as original works by Johannes Vermeer (Dutch, 1632–1675). The paintings reflect the dazzling treatment of light, use of space, and depiction of psychological relationships between figures for which Vermeer is renowned. The subjects include courtship, music-making, and letter writing, all of which were popular themes in seventeenth-century Dutch art.
