Foot of Stairs and Landing

Frick installed an Aeolian Pipe Organ tucked into an arched niche at the foot of the Main Staircase so music could be heard at dinner in the nearby Dining Room. The Staircase's ornate wrought-iron balustrade was inspired by the Dean's Staircase at Saint Paul's Cathedral, London, designed by Jean Tijou.
