Lauren Jacobi: “Renaissance Medals as Ornament”

Portrait medals were often used as sources for architectural decoration on a grand scale at sites such as the Palazzo Medici in Florence. This talk explores the transfer of designs from small artworks to monumental settings during the Renaissance and in the larger context of art history.
