Xavier F. Salomon: The Latin Treasure of the Holy Sepulcher: Art and Faith

On Oct. 15, 2025, Xavier F. Salomon, former Deputy Director and Peter Jay Sharp Chief Curator, presented a lecture on the exhibition To the Holy Sepulcher: Treasures from the Terra Sancta Museum in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Auditorium. Salomon shared his personal experiences traveling to Jerusalem and working with the Franciscan friars who cared for the objects in the show. He also explored the fascinating history of the treasures, their enduring use in Christian worship, and the remarkable story of their journey from Jerusalem to the Frick.
