New Chair & Vice Chair of Frick Young Fellows
Laurence Milstein Elected Chair of Frick’s Young Fellows Steering Committee
Casey Kohlberg Elected Vice Chair
The Frick Collection is pleased to announce the recent election of Laurence Milstein as Chair of its Young Fellows Steering Committee. Casey Kohlberg, a longtime member of the committee, was appointed Vice Chair. The previous Chair, Paul Arnhold, served for four years, spearheading key fundraising efforts and expanding the group to record size.
The Young Fellows Steering Committee is one of the Frick’s vital leadership bodies. The committee advises on programming, events, recruitment, support and sponsorship opportunities, and more for the museum’s Young Fellows program, comprised of members between the ages of 21 and 45. Thanks to the museum’s renovation and reopening and the popularity of such offerings as the Young Fellows Ball, the program has more than doubled over the past five years, growing to over one thousand members.
Commented Axel Rüger, the Frick’s Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Director, “The Young Fellows are an incredibly devoted membership group at The Frick Collection, representing the next generation of museum supporters. We are thrilled at the group’s robust growth over the past few years and, in collaboration with the Young Fellows Steering Committee, we look forward to continuing to foster its membership and offer unique experiences with our collection and buildings. I am so pleased that Laurence Milstein, whom we know as both a passionate supporter of the Frick and a leader of the next generation of philanthropists, is taking up its helm, along with the newly elected Vice Chair Casey Kohlberg, who brings years of dynamic experience on the committee.”
For more than twenty-five years, the Young Fellows have helped to ensure that The Frick Collection remains a singular museum and library experience. Their contributions support the conservation of the permanent collection, the organization of new special exhibitions and installations, and the presentation of world-class public programming. Recently, the group raised vital funds for the Campaign for the Frick, naming the new Young Fellows Penthouse Terrace on the ninth floor of the Frick Art Research Library. Throughout the year, the art enthusiasts that make up the Young Fellows enjoy social and educational events and behind-the-scenes access to the Frick.
