Edmund de Waal explores his long relationship with the Frick and his response to particular places, objects, and paintings within its galleries. He also reflects on the meanings of collecting within his own life and artistic practice.

Acclaimed author and ceramist Edmund de Waal discusses the inspiration and technical process leading up to his exhibition of sculptures installed throughout The Frick Collection. Site-specific works made of porcelain, steel, gold, marble, and glass are displayed in the museum's main galleries alongside works from the permanent collection. On view from May 30, 2019 through November 17, 2019.

The Center for the History of Collecting at The Frick Collection celebrates the inauguration of its Fellows Program with a lecture Start Again: Collections and Memory by Edmund de Waal, author of The Hare with Amber Eyes: A Hidden Inheritance.
