Acquisitions
The Frick Collection has continued to expand its holdings in the decades following Henry Clay Frick's death in 1919. Since then, nearly half of the Collection's paintings and several important sculptures and decorative art objects have been acquired.

Purchased through the Winthrop Kellogg Edey bequest, 2006 (2006.2.02)In the spring of 2006, the institution purchased an undisputed masterpiece of both sculpture and clockmaking, The Dance of Time: Three Nymphs Supporting a Clock. It features a timepiece by Lepaute, the firm of clockmakers working for Kings Louis XV and XVI, as well as a remarkable sculpture by Claude Michel, called Clodion.MORE »

Gift of Mr. Frederick R. Koch, 2006 (2006.2.01)In 2006, The Frick Collection accepted the Frederick R. Koch’s generous gift of a Diana the Huntress statuette by Houdon. A reduced version of the Frick’s prized lifesize terracotta cast of Houdon’s Diana, it allows the museum to present to visitors both versions of one of the most famous sculptures of the eighteenth century.
