    Porcelain Garden: Xavier F. Salomon in Conversation with Vladimir Kanevsky

    In a conversation held in our Stephen A. Schwarzman Auditorium on May 19, 2025, sculptor Vladimir Kanevsky spoke with Xavier F. Salomon, Deputy Director and Peter Jay Sharp Chief Curator, about Porcelain Garden, extended through November 17, 2025. The display showcases a commissioned series of porcelain plants and flowers, meant to evoke the fresh floral bouquets installed throughout the Frick’s galleries when the museum first opened in 1935.

    Porcelain Garden: Vladimir Kanevsky at The Frick Collection

    Join us on a visit to the studio of Vladimir Kanevsky for an inside look at his installation celebrating the Frick’s grand reopening. On view through November 17, 2025, Porcelain Garden: Vladimir Kanevsky at The Frick Collection presents a series of lifelike porcelain sculptures that evoke the fresh floral bouquets displayed throughout the museum for its original 1935 opening. Kanevsky discusses his background and vision for the installation and shows some of the works in progress before they were installed in the Frick’s galleries.
