The Frick Collection Publishes Final Volume of Comprehensive Catalogue and Celebrates with Special Exhibition

The Frick Collection is pleased to announce the publication of the ninth and final volume of its comprehensive catalogue The Frick Collection: An Illustrated Catalogue.  Entitled Drawings, Prints & Later Acquisitions, Volume IX covers the museum’s entire collection of drawings and prints, as well as later acquisitions of paintings, sculpture, and examples of decorative art not previously published.  The release of the book marks the completion of the task of chronicling the Frick’s permanent collection, a project that began in 1967 with Volume I, Paintings: American, British, Dutch, Flemish and German.  To commemorate the publication of Volume IX, a selection of approximately fifteen works on paper that are featured in the catalogue will be the focus of a special exhibition, From Pisanello to Whistler: Works on Paper in The Frick Collection, A Celebration of the  Publication of Volume IX.  On view in the museum’s Cabinet from April 29 through June 1, 2003, this exhibition is a rare opportunity to view the exceptional collection of works on paper owned by the Frick.
