Frick’s Free Monthly Evening Series Extended as “Louis Vuitton First Fridays”

Gallery talk at The Frick Collection during Frick First Friday

New York (June 1, 2026) — Following the successful return this spring of First Fridays, the museum’s series of monthly free evenings, The Frick Collection is pleased to announce that Louis Vuitton will underwrite the program for one year, from June 2026 through May 2027, as part of a three-year cultural sponsorship. The continuation of this series reinforces the Frick’s commitment to expanding public access to the museum and encourages engagement with the collection through a range of dedicated offerings.

Louis Vuitton First Fridays feature free evening admission on the first Friday of each month (excluding January and September), from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. These events invite guests ages 10 and older to enjoy the galleries and special exhibitions after hours, with programming that includes live music, talks, and art-making activities. Full-service dining is available at the Frick’s café, Westmoreland, with additional refreshments offered in the central Garden Court and the James S. and Barbara N. Reibel Reception Hall. Free advance online registration is encouraged for these popular evenings, though walk-up visitors are also welcome.

Commented Axel Rüger, the Frick’s Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Director, “The success of our recent First Fridays events reflects an ongoing strong public interest in the museum, now a year after our reopening. We have been pleased to once again offer these unique, after-hours experiences in our galleries each month, which expand access to our historic buildings and offer new ways for visitors to explore our collections. We are incredibly grateful to Louis Vuitton for their generous sponsorship of the First Fridays series during the upcoming year.”

ABOUT THE FRICK COLLECTION

Housed in one of New York City’s last great Gilded Age homes, The Frick Collection provides intimate encounters with one of the world’s foremost collections of fine and decorative arts. Open since 1935, the institution originated with Henry Clay Frick, who bequeathed his Fifth Avenue residence and collection of European paintings, sculpture, and decorative arts for the enjoyment of the public. The museum’s holdings, which encompass masterworks from the Renaissance to the late nineteenth century, have grown over the decades, more than doubling in number since the opening of the museum. The Frick Art Research Library, founded more than one hundred years ago by Henry Clay Frick’s daughter Helen Clay Frick, is a leading art history research center that serves students, scholars, and the public.

Last spring, the Frick completed a major renovation and enhancement project and reopened on April 17, 2025, with great fanfare. Designed by Selldorf Architects, with executive architect Beyer Blinder Belle, the project was developed to honor the historic legacy and character of the Frick while addressing critical infrastructural and operational needs.
