A New Entryway, Set in Stone

November 26, 2024

Improving the visitor experience is paramount to The Frick Collection’s renovation project. In this video, Oliver Link of Selldorf Architects explores updates to the museum’s Reception Hall, in addition to new stone flooring. The James S. and Barbara N. Reibel Reception Hall, with an increased capacity and brighter ambiance, will create a more inviting start to your visit to the museum. This room—along with spaces on the second floor, open to the public for the first time—features freshly installed patterned floors made in collaboration with Wilkstone, with stones that in many cases match materials used in the historic Frick mansion and library. We greatly look forward to welcoming you to our reopening in April 2025, when you can appreciate all the cohesive new details maintaining the beauty of the Frick experience.
