Co-organized by the Frick Center for the History of Collecting and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, this symposium will complement Philadelphia Museum’s special exhibition commemorating the 100th anniversary of John G. Johnson’s gift of exceptional Old Master paintings by exploring the collecting landscape of Philadelphia during the decades before and after Johnson acquired his treasures.
